Andriel ITBAA Competition 2nd place

By Sieve 20 inches (51 centimeters) I created this owl without any sewing pattern and cliche. I used vireframe and then formed the shape of the body around it. Fake-fur applicated in small parts imitates the feathers. I used fimo for the face and legs, then I added dye to it. One eye is open, the other is closed. There is a black satin ribbon and antic lace and a brooch in her neck. I did not dress her up, but the fake-fur feathers are made to look like she has clothes on. The owl stands on a 22,5 cm pedestal with antic underpart. It is partly made by me. At the top of the pedestal there is a place especially made for the feet and shoes to insert them into it. According to my imagination, this owl is a senile elderly woman who thinks that she has lovely voice thus she keeps singing all night. So she does not hoot. She believes that she is a diva, an adored singer. She is vegan, because mice and small rodents are her fans. I was smiling while I made this kind and funny creature. She has gotten close to my heart during the process of creation. I hope she will make others smile too, hence she was created in this form and style so she would make people stand in front of her, she would make them think, and smile at her.. I am really glad that I had the opportunity to participate in such grandiose and high-standard competition as ITBAA London Teddy Bear Award, and present an artwork which was at least acceptable so I could earn a second place for Andariel the owl in class 10. It is an honour because I have invested a lot of work and even more creativity and fantasy into Andariel. Let me know if you wish to see more pictures about the owl so i could send more to you.
